A WODONGA father is revving up the engine of an old Ford to help find a cure for his son’s Cystic Fibrosis.

Steven Parmesan will hit the streets tomorrow in the 1980 XD Ford for the 4200km Great Escape for Cystic Fibrosis car rally.

Mr Parmesan said he was inspired to take part in the rally after two-year-old son Kade was diagnosed with the genetic condition when he was four weeks old.

Cystic Fibrosis affects the lungs and digestive system and results in a shortened life expectancy.

Mr Parmesan’s cousin Stephen Dale will join him on the 10-day rally which travels from Penrith to the Barossa Valley via the Great Ocean Road.

The pair have raised more than $4000 for Cystic Fibrosis Australia.

The rally will stop in Albury on Thursday and in Bright on Friday.
