This week sees Robb College proudly presenting its 21st Annual Art and Craft Exhibition.
The exhibition, to run from Friday to Sunday, sees Robb College continuing its history of fostering traditions through academic, cultural, arts and sporting activities.
Robb College extends an invitation to all residents to offer support and view the exhibition.
The event offers an opportunity for artists from Robb College, the University of New England and the local community to present their works.
Each year the exhibition attracts more and more participants, the calibre varying from the avid enthusiast to the professional.
The works range from a varying array of mediums including watercolours, photography, and leather works.
Most entries are for sale with the commission proceeds going to the Robb College Cultural Fund, and entry donations to Breast Cancer Australia.
A prize is awarded to the best student work in memory of Max Webster, and this year the prize money has increased.
The artworks will be judged by Andrea Gledhill, the former curator of NERAM.
As an added feature this year, the college will also showcase the best entries from its Bra Art Competition.
Every year Robb College hosts a competition in which students, staff and members of the senior common room design and decorate bras to raise money for breast cancer support.
Competition organisers say ‘the results are fantastic with the only constraint imagination; the bras produced display an array of colourful and quirky creativity’.
The exhibition coincides with the annual Parent and Student Weekend.
Parents from as far as Tasmania and the Northern Territory make the journey to Armidale to visit their son or daughter and experience what Armidale has to offer.
The feature event is the ball in which Robb holds an auction supported through donations from parents and local businesses.
Members of the public are invited to view the 21st Annual Art and Craft Exhibition, which opens on Friday at 7pm, entry $15.
It will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm, in the junior common room, entry by gold coin donation.
